Thanks to DRI International’s sponsorship, we are expanding our project in Haiti to improve post-disaster economic and health outcomes for women and girls through local sanitary pad production and health clinic participation.

What does this mean for a woman in Haiti?

She earns a self-sustaining income
She gains knowledge feminine hygiene
She reclaims her dignity, her health and her independence.

One Mahila project in Haiti empowers a women’s sewing cooperative (haitiprojects.org) to design and produce reusable sanitary pads for Haiti Project’s local women’s clinic and eventually, to be sold in the local market. Women work together to craft sanitary pads to be used in the clinic for educating women and girls about menstruation and reproductive health.
